Glucose 50% Injection 25g in 50mL

Glucose injection 50% is a sterile solution of anhydrous glucose in water for injections, adjusted to pH 3.5-6.5 with sodium bicarbonate.

Indication

Glucose injection 50% is strongly hypertonic and may be used to reduce increased cerebrospinal pressure and / or oedema due to delirium tremens or acute alcoholic intoxication. It may also be used to treat severe hypoglycaemia due to an excess of insulin and to provide concentrated calories in total parenteral nutrition regimes.
